In stitches: notes from a fashion student
Starting fashion school wasn’t an easy road — but it was one I always knew I was meant to take. The journey has been full of challenges, creativity, and growth, and I wouldn’t trade a single moment of it.
Here are a few things I’ve learned along the way:
1. Listen to your teachers.
They’ve been exactly where you are and have so much wisdom to share. Every critique, correction, and bit of advice will help you grow — even when it’s hard to hear.
2. Go crazy with your creativity.
Fashion school is your chance to explore, experiment, and absorb as much as you can. Don’t hold back. The more risks you take now, the more you’ll discover your unique voice as a designer.
3. Embrace the challenges.
Fashion school is demanding — full of late nights in the studio, endless revisions, and the constant pursuit of perfect seam lines. But it’s also deeply rewarding. Every sketch, stitch, and struggle brings you closer to turning imagination into reality.
In the end, fashion school isn’t just about learning to design clothes. It’s about learning who you are as a creative, and how to bring your vision to life.
